Why do we use train stations? This is one of the big questions we explored with Network Rail as we look at the strategy to make a station a mixed-use destination in our towns and cities.
We needed to look at stations from a community point of view and how they can support a wider community use, particularly with the change in passenger demand post-COVID. Itβs not just what happens inside but, more importantly, within the wider area, and the role of placemaking and partnerships to achieve this is so important.
