Interesting to see the British Property Foundation team up with Historic England for this panel debate and discussion on the role that heritage assets can play in rejuvenating our town centres.
Listed buildings on the high street and locally listed buildings in town centre Conservation Areas bring with them particular considerations when identifying suitable new uses, and often require significant investment to restore them to the standards set by the listing and/or by the local authority. Addressing and adhering to these standards can raise issues that challenge the viability of returning the building back into use, unless there is a willingness to compromise.
I'll be interested to hear the views from both sides of the table at this event on 19th June.
