Similar to the businesses referenced in this article, two weeks ago Green Options successfully opened their plastic free retail store in the Darwin Shopping Centre, Shrewsbury. Sales have exceeded expectation and the impact on footfall has been marked.

Three thoughts come to mind: Firstly the positive influence that retail can have on the environment and indeed the environment upon retail, secondly that there are many very viable local retail ideas that might "launch" if given the support and encouragement from retail landlords and thirdly that as Asset and Property Managers an intimate relationship with the assets and the local community is necessary if you are to be able to identify such opportunities.
